Colour Me Positive Week 18, 2018

Hello and welcome to the Colour Me Positive Weekly Creative Challenge!  This is an opportunity to get your creative juices flowing with weekly prompts to inspire you and support you in your creative journey. Each Friday a new prompt will be posted.

The prompt includes a quote, an image, and a colour frame and you are free to use any or all elements as a springboard for your project. There isn’t a wrong way to interpret the prompt, simply allow it to guide your creativity in a way that feels good to you. You don’t need specific tools, products or materials, you just need you!

One of my favourite things to do is compliment on someone else’s work.  I am in a number of FB groups,  if someone makes their first card or are new to Art Journaling, just giving them a little encourgement makes their day.  It certainly makes me feel better. So being a rainbow in someone else’s life can be very rewarding.   It dosen’t matter who it is,  it could be your family, friends or a stranger.  So go ahead and make someone’s day.

A note from Theresa.

This week there is no featured artist. Instead I’m bringing to you an announcement about some changes about how I will be managing the Colour Me Positive challenge after this post.

Short story – I will no longer be publishing blog posts and sending emails about the weekly challenges.

Long story – writing up and editing the blog posts and emails, as brief as they are, takes up a lot of time and energy. The statistics of who is visiting the blog, who is actually opening an email and then the tiny number of people who follow through with clicking through, make this a lot of work for the benefit of just a small handful of people. And since that small handful of people are nearly all on the facebook group where all this gets posted and linked up again, the value and benefit of doing all this extra work may be be of benefit to one or two other people. But I’m only guessing from the lack of interactions. It could be of benefit to noone.

All the time and effort of co-ordinating all this extra stuff could be better channeled into just focusing on the facebook group. That in my mind is a much better use of my time resources. I am finding this blog and email work a distraction from serving those who are already investing their time and effort in the facebook group by participating. It makes sense that my Colour me Positive work hours be invested there.

This will be the last blog post for the weekly challenges. The facebook group will continue on as it always has. Weekly prompts, sharing of artwork created, encouraging and supporting each other, and building a community with shared interests.

You can find the group HERE.

Thank you for your interest in this project.

Theresa

  1. That’s a shame! I’ve just found you but I don’t do Facebook any more so won’t be following the group. Thank you for your time and inspiration. Hope it all goes well for you. Jan
